Ghost Gun Stolen Out Of Georgia Found On Western Mass 18-Year-Old: Police

A Ghost Gun that was reported stolen from the South was found in the possession of an 18-year-old from Massachusetts this week along with drugs, according to authorities.

The Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) was watching Noah Torres, of Springfield, for illegal possession of firearms for several weeks, Springfield Police report. 

When detectives learned that Torres was in possession of a gun on Saturday, April 29, they arrested him in the 700 block of Carew Street around 9:50 p.m., police said.

As detectives conducted a traffic stop that led to Torres' arrest, officers found two guns resting on his lap, one being a large-capacity Ghost Gun. The firearm was reported stolen out of Georgia, police added.

Officers also found an additional 30-round magazine along with six bags of heroin in the back of the car, police said. Torres was placed under arrest and charged with the following: 

  • Carrying a Firearm without a License (2 Counts)
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License – 2nd Offense
  • Carrying a Loaded Large Capacity Firearm on a Public Way
  • Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine/Feeding Device
  • Firearm Violation with 2 Prior/Violent Drug Crimes
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card – 2nd Offense
  • Possession of a Class a Drug
  • Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Receiving Stolen Property Less than $1200
